Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

So I don't know if we are lucky, or unlucky!?!?! Houston, Texas hasn't experienced a major hurricane in many decades, nor has had snow since Christmas 2004! ... and we have lived through both!!!!!! What an adventure!

Although I have said many many times again that I wouldn't care if I ever saw another snowflake again, I have to admit that I was THRILLED last week to see the white stuff falling from the sky. It was a beautiful night, and even better in the morning when I awoke to a clear blue sky, brightly shining sun... and BARE ROADS!!!! Perfect little storm! And, FYI: it is currently 79 degrees outside! God bless Texas! :)

Hurricane Update....

We don't know if we have any friends/family that actually check this... (haha), actually we know you do... but anyway, I thought I'd post real quick and let you know that we are all alive and well. I am actually in San Antonio with my boys and little sister, Erica. We evacuated last Wednesday to try and beat the rush! Aaron has been bunking up at the hospital for the past several days. Anyway, neither Aaron nor I have actually "seen" our house since the storm. Aaron will finally be off call and be able to leave the hospital and go home tomorrow afternoon and check things out, but friends that stayed back at home tell us that all is well. We are obviously without power for who knows how long and have been told that sections of our fence are missing, but that our house is in good shape. Some of our close friends and neighbors were not as lucky and do have downed trees, missing shingles, roof damage, collapsed ceilings, etc. We don't know exactly what our plans are from here?....???.... I don't really want to go home to no power, but we will see...? Anyway, I will be sure and post pictures later! Thank you all for your thoughts, phone calls and prayers!!!

We PASSED!!!

Swim lessons were a success!!!!!

What a week!

This past week was busy busy busy! Grandma Melanie flew in and spent the week with us and Clay and Suni joined us for a few days as well. We went to Sea World, played in San Antonio, shopped, ate, swam, and went to the beach! On Saturday, we all went over to Lumberton to attend a family graveside service. Aaron's cousin Tonya and her family were in a terrible car accident several weeks ago. Her husband Marc passed away and Tonya has spent these last weeks in the hospital. Her little girls were injured in the accident as well. Tonya was finally able to come home from the hospital this week but still has a hard recovery ahead. My heart breaks for Tonya and her little girls. Please pray for them!!!

Ridin' the Waves!

Aaron had a work party down in Crystal Beach at two of the Docs beach house. It was beautiful and so much fun! Kolbe had a great time learning to body board, and we all enjoyed the ferry ride back into Galveston. We were swarmed by hungry seagulls and my boys had such a fun time feeding them!!! The seagulls would catch the food right out of the air, or snatch it right from your fingers!

Fun in the Rain!

Kolbe and Mason were playing outside on their slip-n-slide when a storm came through. It was pouring rain and they loved playing in the run off!
